Vaikunthan Rajaratnam

Prof. Dr. Vaikunthan Rajaratnam,MBBS, FRCS (Edin), FRCS (Glasg), MBA, EDHS, DipMedEd, MInstDesTech, PhD(Education) is a Senior Consultant in Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery atKhoo Teck Puat Hospital, Singapore. He has over four decades of experience inperipheral nerve surgery, complex upper limb reconstruction, and microsurgical techniques.

Beyond clinical practice, he is aninternationally recognised medical educator and instructional designer with astrong focus on competency-based surgical education and the integration of artificialintelligence into healthcare training and research. He serves as Programme Director forInstructional Design and Artificial Intelligence for Healthcare Professionals at NHG College,Singapore, and holds academic appointments as Adjunct Professor at UniversitiKebangsaan Malaysia and RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus.

Prof. Rajaratnam is also a UNESCO Chair Partner at Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation, Malaysia. His work spans surgical innovation, medical education reform, and digital transformation in healthcare, and he frequently delivers invited lectures and workshops internationally.
