
Kenichiro Asano is a leading authority and pioneer in Health & Productivity Management (Kenko Keiei) and Social Health Strategy in Japan. He currently serves as Representative Director of the Institute for Social Health Strategy, Specially Appointed Professor at Niigata University, and Visiting Researcher at the Integrated Research Center for Wellbeing within the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST).
Having spent over three decades at Fujikura Ltd.—transitioning from R&D in optical communication systems to leading corporate strategy and wellness innovation—he served as Representative Director of the Fujikura Institute for Health & Society. Beyond academia and industry, Mr. Asanoplays a pivotal role in shaping national public health policies, regularly serving on expert council committees for key Japanese ministries, including the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW).
