Karen Ngui is Managing Director and Head of DBS Foundation, where she leads the bank’s efforts to create impact beyond banking by supporting vulnerable communities with essential needs, fostering financial inclusion and advancing purpose-driven businesses across Asia.
She was instrumental in establishing DBS Foundation in 2014 and has since guided its evolution into a leading platform for social innovation and collective action, catalysing the growth of social enterprises and driving interventions to deepen the social and financial resilience of vulnerable communities. She also oversees DBS People of Purpose, the bank’s employee volunteerism movement.
As rapid demographic shifts transform societies across Asia, Karen is leading DBS Foundation’s efforts to drive a broader rethinking of ageing societies - championing new mindsets, behaviours and solutions to help foster a future where everyone, regardless of age or circumstance, can thrive and age with dignity, purpose and joy.
In 2025, Karen was named Distinguished Fellow by the Institute of Banking and Finance in recognition of her contributions to the industry. With more than 35 years of experience in the financial services sector, Karen brings deep expertise in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, brand and reputation management, and purpose-led leadership.
