Frances began her professional career as a social worker and family therapist working with children across various communities and hospitals in Dublin and London. She has had a 35-year political career as a Fine Gael TD (member of Irish Parliament), MEP, Councillor and Senator. Frances has served as Tánaiste (Deputy Prime Minister) (2017-2019) and has held Government Ministries for Business, Enterprise & Innovation, for Justice & Equality and for Children & Youth. Frances’ work delivering the European Care Strategy (2022) demonstrates her commitment to improving the quality and access to care for older and disabled people. She has also served as Chair for the National Women’s Council of Ireland, and Charity Ambassador for Ruhama. Frances is dedicated to creating a fair and equal society for all and looks forward to continuing this work as Chair of HCCI.
