Sydney Hughes is the Founder and CEO of Senior Proof™, the nation’s first Aging-in-Place Support System. She founded the company after a personal experience caregiving for her father, which revealed the urgent need for safer home environments for older adults.
With 18 years of construction experience, Sydney has led the modification of thousands of homes and the installation of tens of thousands of safety solutions designed to reduce fall risk, with a focus on low-cost, high-impact improvements that make aging at home safer and more sustainable.
Senior Proof combines clinician-led safety evaluations, ADA-compliant modifications, and Peace-of-Mind Check-Ins that help seniors and caregivers stay connected through every stage of life, while supporting independence, and providing families with reassurance that their loved ones are safe.
The company has partnered with Lowe’s to bring aging-in-place solutions to families through 248 stores nationwide and works alongside organizations including HUD, the Department of Elder Affairs, and United Healthcare to advance safe, connected living for older adults.
Sydney is a national leader in fall prevention and safe aging and was invited to contribute to the National Council on Aging’s Fall Prevention Summit, a once-in-a-decade event shaping America’s fall prevention strategy.
In addition to leading Senior Proof, Sydney speaks internationally on aging-in-place, mentors’ entrepreneurs, is a wife and mother of two.
