Lauren Gula is a social sustainability leader with expertise in the areas of gender equality, diversity, equity and inclusion, and business and human rights. She joined IFC’sGender and Economic Inclusion team in 2022 to co-lead its Care2Equal project focused on mobilizing private sector action, innovation and investment to advance access to quality affordable childcare, elderly care and mental health and well-being. Lauren previously worked for the United Nations Global Compact where she led the organization's work on gender equality. Among other things, Lauren was responsible for: the Women’s Empowerment Principles(WEPs), a joint initiative with UN Women; development of the WEPs Gender GapAnalysis Tool, a self-assessment tool for business covering the workplace, marketplace and community; and Target Gender Equality, a global program focused on corporate goal-setting and action to advance women's representation and leadership in business. Lauren holds a Master’s Degree in InternationalAffairs from the New School in New York and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Development from Dalhousie University in Canada.
